How to make a template in which, if I enter the parameter "1", one text will be displayed (not the number 1, but, say, the word "Hello"), and if I enter "2", the word "Bye" will be displayed? Monobook request

Favicon

Why doesn't Meta wiki have a favicon? Also skywiki.org doesn't automatically redirect to www.skywiki.org, or even just the base wiki here: meta.skywiki.org. Gstar (talk) 16:12, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

Where is private contact?

Where can you privately contact Skywiki? What if someone posted somebody's credit card number and needs suppression? Email is disabled on many (possibily all) SkyWikis so can't contact local admins to suppress information. IllawarraFan (talk) 19:35, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

Bug in ManageWiki

When I try to click on a tab in the wiki extension management section, for example, Skins, a blue underscore appears under the first tab (API), which prevents me from either clicking on “Search” or selecting another tab (including the API itself). What should I do? I can't configure anything because of this bug. I even tried to log out and log in, clear the cache, then cookies, lost ten accounts from other services because of the last one and did not solve this problem. I even logged in through another PC - the error doesn’t care.

Wiki requests/questions

hi, i've recently started a new wiki here: https://vousvoulezdelamusique.skywiki.org/wiki/Main_Page

i have a few things to ask about

i'd like to ask for a localsettings.php change if that's possible:

$wgExternalLinkTarget = '_blank';

for making external links open in a new tab

i've also tried adding the mediawiki reference tooltips gadget on my wiki but it never showed up in my settings after going through the steps. not sure if there's a permission thing that needs to be changed there for that

last thing is that this wiki is intended to only be edited by me right now. that could change but until it does i'd like to ask if it could be exempt from any inactivity deletion. of course i'll be working on it on and off but the intent is for the information on it to stay up indefinitely, and of course with myself being the sole editor it's not meant to be constantly active in terms of edits. let me know if this is a feasible request to follow though. thanks --CrystalForce 06:13, 20 February 2025 (UTC)

1. You can do this yourself in Special:ManageWiki/settings on your wiki - just look up $wgExternalLinkTarget, and the option should be there.
2. Make sure you have the Gadgets extension enabled.
3. Your wiki has been marked as exempted.

You will be redirected to a page displaying the user rights assigned to *. Simply untick the edit permission and save the changes to prevent logged-out users from editing. To change your wiki's logo and favicon, navigate to Special:ManageWiki/settings and find $wgLogo under the Styling section. For the favicon or Apple mobile device icon, locate $wgFavicon or $wgAppleTouchIcon, depending on your needs. Enter the required URL in the corresponding textbox. The URL format is always:

https://yourwiki.skywiki.org/images/database_name/XX/XX/File_name.X

where X represents varying characters based on the file.

For the Vector (2022) skin, also add the link to $wgIcon.

To obtain the correct URL:

• Upload the logo if you haven’t already. Once uploaded, you’ll be redirected to the image.
• Right-click the image and select Copy Image Location, or drag it into a new tab.
• Copy the page’s URL
