Skywiki has not put official policies in place and there for I think it should all be decided thru a RFC, This will Cover multiple aspects of request and policies that skywiki has.

Proposal 1 Steward policy Reform

Introduction

(1) Per policy it requires that stewards must be in good standing to return as a steward within 12 hours, while the policy is in good standing I believe stewards Should be able to return within 24 hours instead of 13 hours to give them more extended time to return, (1)

(2) In addition to this I propose that the part about being in good standing is removed and the reason for this is because Request for Revocation exist and that should be Handles thru a request for revoktion thread Which Returning in good standing would be based on the judgement of one Steward instead of multiple and I think a request for revoktion should be followed by the request of the Community

Comments

  1. The 12-hour timeframe is a deliberate choice to balance out the time needed to get everything sorted out and introduce rational thinking and not raising issues with Stewards being promoted out of the blue because they "quit yesterday and decided to come back".
  2. This part is very unclear. Do you mean that we should allow any Steward who resigns to come back within 12 hours of their resignation or force them to go through the RfP process again if they quit? If the former, then no, because a Steward can resign under a cloud and then just come back like nothing happened, avoiding scrutiny from the community; if the latter, then I'm neutral on removing it.

Proposal 2 Request policies

Currently skywiki has no policies in place to cover many aspects of Voting however I am proposing we add multiple policy in place to cover most of the issues of voting and to ensure that voting is fair to everyone and is done within a reasonable matter. The Following shall be added to this, while miraheze has a descent Policy which cover majority of the Issues faced here when it comes to request I think we can use some of those policy's to Cover these issues

(1) Users may only use one account to vote, and shall not use any alts to vote.(While this is a policy covered by other policies this should be Covered by Request policies as well

(2) Accounts created before the Request for comment are negligible to vote

(3) a Request may be closed by a Steward early at a stewards Discretion Before the minimum of 5 days have passed

Comments

  1. I agree with this, though the way it's currently written is technically redundant.
  2. If users must create alternate accounts to vote and alternate accounts are banned from voting, how do you expect people to vote?
  3. This is an awful idea and should never be implemented - since nothing in this proposal bans Stewards from voting on their own requests, a Steward can open an RfC, vote in favor of it, and then close it as successful, thus allowing them to change policy however and whenever they want. We should be aiming for a representative consensus-based system, not a dictatorship in all but name. Tali64^2 (talk) 08:12, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
