General
Where am I?
Welcome to SkyWiki! As a wiki farm, we host a variety of wikis on different topics. However, while we provide the platform, we do not directly manage individual wikis. For questions about a specific wiki’s local policies, please contact a local administrator.
What powers these wikis, and what technology do they run on?
SkyWiki runs on MediaWiki, the same software behind Wikipedia, allowing multiple users to edit pages collaboratively. It supports formatting, images, special effects, and maintains a history of every page version, enabling past revisions to be viewed, copied, or restored.
Why choose SkyWiki instead of established wiki farms like Fandom or Miraheze?
SkyWiki is a great choice for those seeking more control over their wiki, free from ads, forced changes, or delayed support. Unlike Fandom, which includes advertisements and limits customization, SkyWiki offers a clean, flexible environment where wiki owners have greater freedom. While Miraheze has faced challenges with stability and governance, SkyWiki focuses on reliability and community input. With no forced migrations, no unexpected UI changes, and no hidden data collection, SkyWiki provides a modern, adaptable platform for those who want a wiki that works the way they need it to.
