Instructions

This template takes advantage of the new mention notification to ping the person you are replying to in a discussion (so you don't have to use the {{talkback}} template). Right now it works on any talk page, and will soon work on Wikipedia namespace pages as well.

To use it, just add something like...

{{replyto|Cool Hand Luke}} What we've got here is failure to communicate! ~~~~

...in an existing discussion. Replace 'Cool Hand Luke' with the name of the user you are replying to. (The comment must be signed and belong to a section in order for the notification to work.)

You can also substitute the template, if preferred:

{{subst:replyto|Scarlett O'Hara}} Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. ~~~~

You can reply to up to 3 people at once:

{{subst:replyto|Larry|Moe|Curly}} Nyuk! Nyuk! Nyuk! ~~~~
