@Someone:

Instructions

This template takes advantage of the new mention notification to ping the user(s) you are replying to in a discussion (so you don't have to use the {{talkback}} template). Right now it works on any talk page, and will soon work on Wikipedia namespace pages as well (pending Template:Bug).

Single recipient

To use it, just add something like the following to an existing discussion:

{{replyto|Cool Hand Luke}} What we've got here is failure to communicate! ~~~~

The comment must be signed and belong to a section in order for the notification to work.

You can also substitute the template, if you prefer:

{{subst:replyto|Scarlett O'Hara}} Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. ~~~~

Multiple recipients

You can reply to up to 5 people at once:

{{replyto|Larry|Moe|Curly}} Nyuk! Nyuk! Nyuk! ~~~~

Hiding the output

If you want to notify the person you are replying to without outputting the salutation ('@Someone:'), add 'hide=true' to your template call:

{{replyto|Jerry|hide=true}} Oh, Jerry, don't let's ask for the moon. We have the stars. ~~~~
