So my wiki is officially up and running, but there are a couple of issues I need help with.
How do I get the various templates to show up? Most of them aren't; do I have to remake them from scratch or is there a setting for re-adding the templates?
Also, whenever I click on a section of an article while in mobile view, it doesn't show the section. How do I fix that? [[User:Rangerkid51|Rangerkid51]] ([[User talk:Rangerkid51|talk]]) 04:06, 31 December 2024 (UTC)

:::# Make sure that you have [https://reallifevillains.skywiki.org/wiki/Special:AllPages?from=&to=&namespace=828&hideredirects=1 this list] and [https://reallifevillains.skywiki.org/wiki/Special:ChangeContentModel this page] open in two different tabs. Once you have done so, copy the first page title from the list, go to the second page you have open (this should contain only a single input box with the label "Page title:"), and paste it into said box. Once you click "Change", a dropdown menu should appear - click it, and you should see an option that says "Scribunto module"; make sure that the dropdown is set to that. The second and last input box does not have to be filled. Once you have completed these steps, click "Change" again. You have successfully changed the content model of a page - go back to the list of pages and move down one item. You will repeat the process for that item. If you have reached the last item in the column, move right one column and scroll up to the first item of said column; if you do not have any more columns to the right of your current one, you are done.
:::# On your mobile web browser of choice, look for an icon that resembles a circular line segment pointing to its own end; this icon may be in a secret menu hidden behind three vertical dots. Once you have successfully found the aforementioned icon, click it; this will instruct your web browser to send a new request to the web server to fetch a new copy of the page you are currently browsing. If you are fortunate, the webpage you have reloaded will be fully functional, thus resolving the problem of the collapsible sections not functioning properly.

Ban

I am not an LTA; may I request an appeal for my ban? I was dissatisfied with being muted without justification. --Bugerking885 (talk) 04:44, 15 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

According to technical and environmental evidence, the veracity of your claim that you are not an LTA is false - while there was no reasonable cause for your temporary mute on our associated Discord server, your behavior afterward and the aforementioned evidence pointing to your guilt has led me to the conclusion that your timeout has been retroactively justified; your appeal for being forcibly ejected from our Discord server has been denied. I just created a new wiki

I just created a new wiki, Real-Life Villains. How do I upload the data dump for the previous incarnation of the website? 2600:387:15:2E19:0:0:0:A 16:36, 29 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi there I'm not very familiar with how to upload it however I'll ping @Tali64^2 as he's a system admin. Cocopuff2018 (talk) 16:43, 29 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Special:RequestImport; if that falis, please file a Phabricator task with a link to the dump in question. When a data dump is sufficiently large enough, it can only be imported via RequestImport or command line, which does not involve user input besides providing the dump. Hey, I'm only just now realizing that I wasn't logged in when I made this comment, so just letting you know that I'm the one who made it. Rangerkid51 (talk) 19:33, 29 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Filed a request on Phabricator

So I did what you suggested and filed a task for the data dump on Phabricator. There hasn't been any response to it yet, but I'm sure they'll get to it soon 👍 Rangerkid51 (talk) 18:05, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello thank you for filing the request!
Could you link the wiki?
And do you have a way to send us the download of the dump? Cocopuff2018 (talk) 18:35, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

  1. It appears that most of your modules were imported as plain text, which has the side effect of breaking templates that are dependent on them - to fix this, you will have to manually adjust the content model of all of the pages in the Module namespace to "Scribunto module" via Special:ChangeContentModel on your wiki. You will also need to enable PortableInfobox for your infoboxes since it is not currently enabled.
  2. Reloading a page where this happens appears to fix the issue for that session.

  1. Make sure that you have this list and this page open in two different tabs. If you have reached the last item in the column, move right one column and scroll up to the first item of said column; if you do not have any more columns to the right of your current one, you are done.
  2. On your mobile web browser of choice, look for an icon that resembles a circular line segment pointing to its own end; this icon may be in a secret menu hidden behind three vertical dots.
